How to Use Wall Fish Tape?

A fish tape is an excellent assistant tool in plumbing. It is used to do traction and guiding in pipeline or wall cavities. The fish tape plays an important role in this industry field. For some plumbing operation, you cannot push the cable wire through and pull it out of the conduit and narrow channels without using a guiding string. That's why a fish tape is absolutely needed.

How to Use Wall Fish Tape?

➤ A fish tape is usually stored and coiled on a reel with a sturdy handle. To pull the metal wire fish tape out of the reel wheel, you need to press the button or pull the lever near the handle. After releasing the cable fish tape, you can easily pull it out of the reel. Then you need to unwind the fish tape and feed it into the cavity or the conduit.

➤ There is one thing you need to aware that you had better pull the tape string wires evenly from the spools when feeding the tapes into the conduit. Besides, you should try to keep the wires untangled during the process of pulling and feeding the fish tape. And you need to lubricate the cable wires when feeding it into the pipeline and pulling the wire off of the spools, which can make the pulling much easier. It is helpful to complete your plumbing work and save you a lot of working times.

➤ Generally speaking, you can't operate a fish tape alone for your safety. Thus, when a tape wire emerges from the other end of the conduit or cavity, your helper can attach the wire guideline to the end of the tape, and you can pull the tape string back through the conduit.
